Gabriel Martin

I studied computer engineering at the University of Central Florida, focussing on digital design. Professionally my goal is to work as an ASIC design engineer, helping to build products that get me as excited as I did as a kid getting into computers. Things like the iPhone, the Nintendo DS, the PSP, and eventually PC components like processors and GPUs. I'm a digital design engineer, currently working on the FPGA hardware of a space-based imaging system at Northrop Grumman — RTL design, SoC integration, softcore processor, embedded systems integration, verification, timing closure, and hardware bring up. At home I'm working on projects to build my ASIC design flow skillset (like GISC-0, which you can read about on this site).

I would describe myself as generally curious, and have always spent a lot of my time learning (mostly through tinkering and YouTube). After graduating with my bachelor's degree, I was incredibly happy to be finished with university... little did I know that itch to get back to class would return much sooner than expected. I'm returning to UCF to obtain my master's in Computer Engineering starting Spring 2027, and I'm very excited to get started!

I consider myself very lucky to have a passion that translates so well into a professional career, and the old saying that "if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life" feels very true for me. But at my root I'm a son to the most supportive parents in the world, and happen to be the brother of my best friends, my two sisters. Everything I am and everything I do is because of them. Love you guys.
